Music taste is subjective

Music taste is subjective. A person does not have “better taste” if they like an artist who is “critically acclaimed”. There are major issues with being critically acclaimed in the first place. Who are these critics? Are they going to tell other people what “good music” is?

I sense that people who argue about objective taste are elitist. Their tastes align with critics, or they lie to themselves that a particular artist must be good so they can boast about their superior taste.

The technical sophistication of a song doesn’t make it better than others.
